In February we had a last minute request to help our friends from Choshen Farm in Fimpulu, which is located in remote Northern Zambia. This is a fantastic ministry lead by Bethany and Jeremy Colvin that was established over 15 years ago and is thriving. The school is in the process of setting up a new computer lab with over 15 new laptops.
As you will all know, these days computers aren’t much use without internet access, so the Mission Geeks team led by Gareth (one of his many areas of skill) flew up there to take on the task of setting up a WiFi system for the IT lab and administration block. The team took a holistic approach to the project, including installing security and safety restrictions to limit what is accessible to who!
The project went well but the weather had other plans! The team was grounded overnight at Mansa airport and had to wait until the weather cleared the next morning before flying back to base. We look forward to returning later in the year to expand the internet access to the classrooms too.
