Hangar Fundraiser

/ Why a Hangar?
At Mission Geeks we focus our work in remote rural areas and to reach these areas we use a small 4 seater aircraft.

We are raising funds to construct a simple hangar base in Mkushi that will serve as:

  • Secure storage for the aircraft protecting it from tampering as well as wind, rain and sun.
  • An operational field base.
  • A workshop for maintenance.
  • Storage for tools, equipment and supplies.
  • A sheltered area for loading and unloading passengers and cargo.

The photographs below show the construction of an existing hangar that is similar to what we hope to build.

/ FUNDING REQUIRED

We are hoping to raise $13,000 towards the construction of the hangar. Once built, this facility will be critical to our operations and support our work for many years to come.

Please get in touch below if you’d like to partner with Mission Geeks to make this happen!

Funding Raised So Far
/ Project Progress

We are so grateful to have raised a total of $7,500 from a generous anonymous donor ($2,500) and Action Auto ($5,000) which meant we had just enough to engage local engineering firm Steric to fabricate and erect the basic shell of the hangar! Newton Young kindly donated all the ground work in preparing the site. Thank you Newton!

We are so delighted to be able to get the aircraft out of the sun and rain and have a dry area for loading and maintenance! We will continue to fundraise for the remaining amount that will mean we can lay a floor, build walls, doors and secure storage.
